Winter Journey

Väyläfestival Winter Journey concerts take place in the Övertorneå and Pello churches on March 29–30. Oulu Sinfonia Chamber Musicians perform works Caroline ShawW.A. MozartFredrik Sjölin, and Peter Sculthorpe.

A novelty instrument, the didgeridoo can be heard as part of the program, as the musicians perform Peter Sculthorpe’s String Quartet No. 18 in which the Australian indigenous instrument appears alongside the four string instruments.

In the Övertorneå concert there is collect towards the congregation’s music activities, and in Pello there is a 10 euros program charge. The concerts are organized in cooperation with the Övertorneå and Pello congregations.
