The festival’s residency artists lead three arts workshops in June. Join to create a communal tapestry, work on your creative writing, and learn about the play of light and shadows in the midst of the Nordic summer!

Tapestry workshop
Lead the tapestry artists Melissa Sammalvaara, the participants weave a communal tapestry in Äkäslomopolo during the week preceding mid-summer. Look for inspiration at Melissa’s tapestry exhibit “Ryijyt Kylässä” presented at the Karila Barn Gallery between 26 June – 9 July.

Writers’ workshop
Bring your creative texts to be enhanced under the tutelage of writer Petra Rautiainen at the Muonio Kyläpirtti on 17–18 June. Opening the workshop Petra Rautianen presents a lecture on techniques applied in creative writing based on historic subjects.

Shadow puppet theater workshop
Puppet theater artist Jose Salo leads this workshop on the week before mid-summer in Enontekiö.
